Oscars 2016 Predictions: Microsoft Bing Sees Leonardo DiCaprio Taking Home Oscars This Year
For the past few months, fans have been predicting which movies and big names will take home the Oscars during this year's Academy Awards, but one of the highly anticipated moments of the night is the Best Actor category, especially since Leonardo DiCaprio will win — at least according to Microsoft Bing's opinion.
Although a lot of outlets and industry experts have dished their opinions on the category, with the majority rooting for DiCaprio to finally take home the gold, Microsoft Bing's insight is one of the most trusted for the past years.
Last year, the engine was able to correctly predict 20 out of 24 winners, and this year, it states that the "Revenant" actor has a 73 percent chance of winning Best Actor.
If DiCaprio does win the Oscars this year, it will be his first win in the category, toppling other contenders such as Michael Fassbender and Matt Eddie Redmayne. While a lot of things happen behind the scenes, the "Titanic" star's fans believe that the famed engine's predictions are coming true.
In case DiCaprio once again fails to capture the heart of the Oscars, it is believed that "The Revenant" will bag a lot of awards during the night, just like it did at the Directors Guild and BAFTAs.
Meanwhile, other outlets predict that Alejandro Iňarritu and George Miller will go head-to-head for Best Director, while "The Revenant" and "Spotlight" will most probably fight hard to get Best Picture.
As for Best Actress, opinions vary widely, though most of the surveys put Brie Larson on top of the competition, while Jennifer Lawrence and Cate Blanchett are included in runner-up lists.
Best Supporting Actor has a number of really good contenders, but most believe that this year is Sylvester Stallone's. The category is considered by some as a total fail since unlike the rest, it has had the most varied winners and nominees, thus no prediction is ever safe.
As for other categories, "Mad Max: Fury Road" is seen as one of the strongest contenders in various categories, though "The Revenant" is predicted to have an amazing night during the 88th Academy Awards, which will be held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California on Feb. 28.
