Pacquiao vs. Bradley 3: Pacman Not Regretting Delay Of Floyd Fight; Bradley Eyeing To Retire Pacquiao With A Loss
With still less than three months away until their scheduled rubber match, both Manny Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley have conducted their respective pre-fight media obligations.
Pacquiao will be fighting his 66th and final fight on the April 9 event at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
After the said bout, "Pacman" has set his sights on being a full-time public servant in his home country of the Philippines.
Last week, the Filipino boxing icon spoke to a group of reporters and conducted his own media scrum. He touched on his May 2nd mega fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr., a match-up that took five years to make. Many believe that Pacquiao and Mayweather should have fought in 2009, when both men were at the peak of their careers.
However, failed negotiations forced the fight to be pushed further and further. When it finally happened, the outcome was met with disappointment, as it was a one-sided fight in favor of Mayweather, as many had expected.
But multiple reports, which were corroborated by Pacquiao's own statements, claim that the eight-division world champion was coming into the fight injured, with a torn rotator cuff on his right shoulder to be exact. Roach and the coaches had wanted to postpone the fight, weeks' prior, but Pacquiao refused.
It is a decision, which he says, he does not regret to this day.
"No, I never regret that I fought that fight," Pacquiao simply said, according to the report.
Meanwhile, Timothy Bradley has one promise for the upcoming third fight against his old rival. Speaking to Seconds Out (via a report by Boxingscene), "Desert Storm" promised one thing.
Bradley dropped hints about the game plan that his trainer Teddy Atlas drew out. While he did not give any elaborate details, the reigning WBO welterweight champion referred to himself as a "log" and Pacquiao as the "ocean," and metaphorically promised to emerge victorious and hand Pacquiao a loss as he formally makes an exit from the game of boxing.
"April 9th, everybody tune in to see this log beating this ocean," Bradley said.
