Paul Walker's Daughter Settles Lawsuit With Porsche
Paul Walker's daughter, Meadow, has settled the wrongful death lawsuit she filed against Porsche for the death of her father.
Meadow can finally rest from fighting for her father in wrongful death lawsuit against Porsche now that both parties have come to a settlement almost four years after Paul died, E! News confirmed.
Details about the settlement are confidential, but documents reveal that Meadow and the German car company finalized a deal last Oct. 16. With a final settlement already in hand, both parties have already filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit.
The lawsuit revolved around how Porsche was liable to Paul's death in a car crash while riding their Carrera GT model with his driver, Roger Rodas.
Police investigation of the crash ruled that the cause was speeding at a rate between 80 and 93 MPH. However, it was revealed in the lawsuit that Rodger was only going between 63 and 71 MPH when he lost control of the car.
Meadow's defense also argued that an alleged "defective" seat belt disabled Paul to break free from the crashed car before it went to flames, resulting to his death.
They also argued that Porsche failed to equip the Carrera GT that Paul and Rodger used with an electronic stability control system, even though they had knowledge that the car has instability and control issues. The control system would have prevented the Carrera GT from swerving.
But now that the lawsuit is over, Meadow can put Paul's death in her past and continue to keep her father's memory alive in good light.
Last month, Meadow paid tribute to her father in celebration of his birthday by encouraging her followers to get involved with the Paul Walker Foundation and "DO GOOD."
"In honor of my dad's birthday today, we're challenging you to DO GOOD! Share a video or photo of your random act of kindness and nominate 4 people to join the challenge! Be sure to tag the foundation as well as hashtag #PWFdogoodchallenge, so we can check out all of your posts!"
