'Penny Dreadful' Season 3 Spoilers and News: Filming Is All Done, Kaetenay to Helps Save Vanessa

The upcoming season of "Penny Dreadful" has finally wrapped up, and along with the nearing premiere of the series, it is speculated that a new character will help in rescuing Vanessa.

Producer Christopher King shared last week that filming has wrapped up in Almeria, Spain. The drama is set during the early 1800s in London, but some of the scenes feature a desert in Almeria and King shared some production clips on Twitter for fans to have a first look at the desert sequence.

In the clip, a horse chasing scene is depicted, and according to The International Business Times U.K., it may have been integrated in the series to help in introducing one of the new series regulars who will become a friend of Sir Malcolm (Timothy Dalton).

The new character is Kaeteney, a Native American whose connection to Ethan (Josh Hartnett) has yet to be revealed. Wes Studi will be playing the role and his addition to the cast is expected to open more interesting storylines, such as further developments in the rescue of Vanessa (Eva Green).

In the previous season, Ethan told the authorities about his werewolf transformation and how he killed some at that time. It is then expected that he will be moved back to the United States. However, some fans speculate that he will find a way to get back to London so he can rescue Vanessa.

The previous teasers and trailers reveal that Vanessa won't be scared of what is to come. Apparently, she is prepared for the evil that fans will see in season 3. It is then speculated that Ethan and Sir Malcolm, with the help of Kaeteney, will finally get Vanessa out of the evil's bondage.

Aside from Studi, Patti LuPone will also become a regular with the role of Dr. Seward. She will be closely connected to Vanessa as she will be her therapist.

"Penny Dreadful" season 3 hits small screens Sunday, May 1, on Showtime.
