'Persona 5' Updates: New Trailer Features More Cinematics and Mini Games

Another trailer has debuted for the upcoming role-playing game "Persona 5," which is slated for an April 4 release for PlayStation 4 and PS3 consoles.

The new trailer featured cinematics from the game as well as several shots of gameplay. The trailer also highlighted several minigames which gave a glimpse of some button-mashing activities.

The previous trailer of the game, however, revealed a familiar character named Igor, who is obviously coming back into the game as a Velvet Room proprietor. He is accompanied by Velvet Room assistants Caroline and Justine who help introduce the game's mechanics.

In both trailers, it is made clear that the main protagonists of the game are high school students in Tokyo who seem to live normal lives but are actually living action-fantasy lives at night through chosen personas that turn them into masked vigilantes - known as the Phantom Thieves of Hearts.

The new "Persona" title reportedly has improved dungeons or palaces to explore which are more intricate than those found in the last installment of the game. Dungeons are the usual venues for battles and explorations where players can encounter different types of monsters.

However, the game is still noted for having several menus to navigate, just like its previous installments, which are not too friendly for beginners. It also comes along with heavy storylines and dialogue - which is reportedly the main reason why the game has been delayed constantly when it came to its Western release.

"Persona 5" was already released in Japan on September 2016. For other countries, it was expected to get a February 2017 rollout but was again pushed back towards the current April release date.

The developers of the game, Atlus, previously explained that they needed to get the English translations and dubbing right so Western players could also appreciate the dialogue-heavy game.

Upon release, "Persona 5" will also launch a Premium Edition which contains the game's soundtracks, an art book, and a number of bonuses.
