Peter Cullen Wants Michael Bay Back to Direct 'Transformers 5'
While it seems totally set that Bay won't be doing the next Transformers movie, Peter Cullen, the voice of Optimus Prime in both the original cartoon series and the film,s is still hoping that Bay would return to direct "Transformers 5," which is due to come out on June 24, 2016.
"I have a great deal of respect for Bay. He generates a great deal of excitement and energy. He's really a hands-on director. My son is a stunt man and worked in Chicago doing a lot of the driving sequences … he said he's a very, very diligent, hands-on guy," Cullen said about Bay.
Bay has been directing the Transformers movies since the start of the franchise and despite what critics say about the films, the franchise's commercial success is a real indicator that he is the one who is truly fit to direct.

"I would certainly miss him. I think he's brilliant, his mind is unbelievable. Michael if you're reading this, I hope you are coming back," Cullen added.
The next Transformers film is still a long way away and it is unknown who will cast the next humans who will be fighting alongside the Autobots in their fight against the Decepticons. And if Cullen's hopes are ever realized, then maybe Bay would return to direct the next Transformers film.
The "Transformers" movie franchise has been a commercial success in the realm of Hollywood, always breaking box-office sales despite harsh criticisms from reviewers. Michael Bay, the director for the past four movies, has said in the previous weeks that he won't be directing the fifth Transformers movie. Instead, he will be focusing on his other projects.
Actor Mark Wahlberg, who plays as the lead role in "Age of Exctinction" also won't be coming back for a second Transformers movie, preferring one-shot projects instead of doing sequels.
