PlayStation 5 Release Date, News: Console to Arrive in Two Models with Facebook Integration?

Sony has remained mum about its upcoming console that is said to arrive about five years or so, but recent rumors suggest that there is more to the platform than what was speculated earlier last year since it will come in two devices.

With the gaming community getting stronger by the day, it is only reasonable that fans are now hyped up for what the tech giant could offer now that the PS4 is starting to get out of date for some.

New reports suggest that the next-generation PlayStation will allow for fans to explore two choices. One of the devices is said to home a disk drive that supports 4K Ultra Blu-Ray content, while the other will feature an SSD storage. The former promises improved graphics for a more exciting game experience, while the second device will reportedly be linked to digital titles.

Last year, the rumor was hot on virtual reality being integrated in the PS5. While this is still possible, the new report about two devices would make it harder to predict which among the two will get VR or if both models will sport the high-end technology.

Other rumors that flood the upcoming console include one that says it will be a streaming device that will allow gamers to use the console not only for gaming but for other entertainment purposes as well. If this is true, Sony is about to see its biggest sales figures in years, as an expert said last year that the company should release a console that offers more than gaming.

Meanwhile, it is also rumored that the platform will sport an open-source operating system, meaning there will be loads of games and apps that gamers can enjoy. Neurogadget says the PS5 could go as far as conquering the social media world as it is speculated that the console will come with the ability to connect to Facebook, Twitter, and other social media networks.

Sony's PlayStation 5 is speculated to launch sometime in 2020.
