PlayStation VR Expected To Launch In Fall?
There is still no specific date on when the most awaited gaming product by Sony, the PlayStation VR, will be available for sale. There are some speculations though on when it might possibly hit store shelves. According to a report by Forbes, GameStop CEO Paul Raines talked in an interview with Fox Business about Sony's virtual reality headset arriving sometime in the fall.
"We will launch the Sony product this fall," Raines said in the interview. While it may seem like good news to hear a launch window for the release, several are confused as the announcement contradicts that of Sony's own timetable. The source stated that the Japanese multinational conglomerate corporation previously announced that the PlayStation VR would be arriving at the earlier part of 2016.
The announcement was made a year ago though so there is a possibility that things have changed since then. But if the time frame of release is true, the PlayStation VR may be left behind by the other virtual reality headsets by other brands that are coming soon. CNET detailed that the Oculus Rift is expected to arrive in March while the HTC Vive is coming this April.
Sony has also commented already on the announcement made by Raines and it said that, "GameStop was speculating and we have not released any further details on launch timing." In response, GameStop representative stated, "Paul did mean generally speaking, whenever PlayStation VR launches, we will be ready for it and supporting it heavily at launch and going into Holiday 2016."
Fans who are looking forward to getting the virtual reality headset will just have to stay tuned to catch official details. As for other information, not a lot is revealed but Alphr reported that the estimated price tag of the gadget is around £350. The official site of PlayStation 4 also detailed that the new VR headset will come with a 5.7 inch 1920 X RGB X 1080 resolution OLED display.
