'Poldark' Season 3 Spoilers: Will Ross Rescue Dwight?
Next Sunday on the period drama "Poldark," Dwight Enys (Luke Norris) remains locked up in prison, which the inmates call hell on earth, as his friend Ross Poldark (Aidan Turner) failed to save him.
As revealed in the synopsis of episode 4 of "Poldark" season 3, the long-time friends are bound to be reunited again. Dwight will join Ross in his mission as soon as Morwenna (Ellise Chappell), upon her realization that their association could only end up in heartbreak, rejects his love.
The trailer for the upcoming episode shows how frantic the destitute are. Deprived of grain and desperate for survival, the poor resort to stealing from the state, which consequently will lead them to their death.
In the clip, the redcoats can be seen shooting at their starving citizens, trying to run away with their grain. Others perish from being trampled on from trying to flee the scene. And those who do manage to survive have to face trial, which most likely will not rule in their favor.
Dwight will eventually be rescued successfully from the clutches of the French, but it will cost them the life of Captain Henshawe (John Hollingworth).
"Your friends have risked life and limb to free you," Ross tells his friend when he insists on staying there for his patients' sake.
Ross' presence in the prison will be enough to lift up the doctor' spirits.
But when word of the prison break reaches other inmates, Ross and his men scramble for their freedom. Unfortunately, one of Ross' loyal supporters, Captain Henshawe will not make it out alive.
Apart from Dwight, the prison break will also grant Lord Falmouth's nephew, Lieutenant Hugh Armitage, his freedom, who has been incarcerated in the same hellhole.
"Poldark" airs Sunday, Oct. 22 at 9 p.m. ET on PBS.
