'Pretty Little Liars' Spinoff News: Will Shay Mitchell's Emily Appear on 'The Perfectionists?'
Shay Mitchell recently opened up about the possibility of her coming back for the upcoming "Pretty Little Liars" spinoff.
Many fans have been hoping to see a "Pretty Little Liars" spinoff since the series wrapped up its seven-year run in June. Now that Freeform has ordered a new spinoff focusing on Alison (Sasha Pieterse) and Mona (Janel Parrish), viewers are looking forward to see which other "Pretty Little Liars" characters will be making their way to "Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists" once it officially hits the small screen.
Shay Mitchell recently caught up with TVLine and she has revealed whether there is a chance her character Emily will be appearing with onscreen partner Alison in the spinoff. "It's just difficult with all of our schedules right now," said Mitchell, who is set to lead star in the ABC pilot "Heiresses."
She added, "At the end of the day, regardless of whether I'm on it or not, I will 100-percent support the show and be a fan of it myself. But we're all just doing so many different things right now, so it's hard to commit to something like that."
"Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists" is set in the town of Beacon Heights, a place where everything seems perfect. Despite its top-tier college and over-achieving residents, outsiders don't know that nothing in the town is what is seems to be. The pressure to become perfect eventually leads to the town's first murder.
News of the spinoff does not come as a surprise, considering how the flagship drama performed over the years. During its final season, "Pretty Little Liars" ranked as the No. 1 drama across the 18–34 and 12–34 measures. The series also remains as the No.1 most social TV series for 2016–2017 season to date, garnering 266 million engagements in total.
