Prince Harry Does Not Want Extravagant Wedding With Meghan Markle
Despite his royal status, Prince Harry is not a fan of lavish wedding ceremonies.
Unlike other royalties, the 33-year-old does not want to have a public wedding ceremony if he decides to marry his current girlfriend, Meghan Markle. A source close to Harry recently spoke to Us Weekly and revealed that the red-headed royal will stick to a private union with his closest family and friends once he settles down.
"Pomp and pageantry is the last thing he would want," said the insider. "I can see him wanting to get married at St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle. It would stop it from turning into a total media circus and give the day a sense of privacy that Harry so badly craves."
Amid engagement rumors, Markle reportedly quit her USA legal drama "Suits" as she prepares to announce their engagement before the year ends. The 36-year-old, who rose to popularity as the feisty paralegal Rachel Zane on the hit series, has allegedly told her TV bosses that she will not be reprising her role on the show's next installment in 2018.
A different source mentioned that Markle is aware she can't pursue a career in acting and be a princess at the same time. After making a huge career sacrifice, the Toronto native will focus more on her "charity commitments" as she takes on the role of a full-time royal.
Reports note that acting is just one of the things Markle will have to give up once she marries Harry. She also needs to leave her life in Toronto to start anew with her soon-to-be husband in England.
When she began dating Harry last year, Markle also closed down her three-year-old lifestyle blog The Tig despite its growing fanbase. The TV star did not explain why she ended her blog, but it was speculated that the royal family thought her blogger status was not suitable if she was going to be a princess in the future.
