'Prison Break' Revival To Start Shooting In Spring, Delay Possible Due to Schedule Conflict
It's no longer a secret that "Prison Break" is coming back to bring brand new episodes for season 5. It was announced back in August 2015 by Fox Studios. The question though is when it might start airing. According to a report by The Indian Express, the series revival, which will be a 10-episode season, is set to start shooting in the spring.
The show will bring back main stars Wentworth Miller, who played as Michael Scofield, and Dominic Purcell, who played as Lincoln Burrows. Other key characters of the show like Sara Tancredi, played by actress Sarah Wayne Callie, will also be returning.
But it seems like the show will be arriving to the small screen a little later than expected. As reported by The Bit Bag, there is a possibility that "Prison Break" season 5 will experience a delay due to the schedule of Miller and Purcell, who are both playing roles in the upcoming superhero series "Legends of Tomorrow." Miller is set to play Captain Cold while Purcell will be playing the character Heat Wave.
But because of the filming of the 16-episode "Legends of Tomorrow," the schedules of the two actors may have a conflict with the filming for "Prison Break." Reports say that both of the stars are busy with the production of the CW show.
In an interview with Purcell and Miller with TVLine at the Television Critics Association winter press tour, the two revealed the status of "Prison Break." Purcell said that Warner Bros. and 20th Century Fox are "negotiating the complexities" in order to come up with a solution that will best fix the issue at hand.
Meanwhile, Miller is hopeful they'll already start shooting by spring. "There are a lot of moving parts to that conversation but we are hopeful that we'll be able to shoot something this spring. Prison Break is taking its cue from Legends, which is the priority. So we're aiming for spring."
