Pussycat Dolls' Deny Kaya Jones Claim Group Was a 'Prostitution Ring'

The Pussycat Dolls recently issued a statement denying allegations that the all-female pop group is a "prostitution ring."

On Friday, Kaya Jones — who left the girl band in 2005 before they inked a record deal — revealed in a series of tweets that she and other Pussycat Dolls members were subjected to sexual abuse regularly.

"We are all abused," reads one of her posts, noting the group were forced to "sleep with whoever they say" they should.

The Nicole Scherzinger-led group has since responded to Jones' allegations with a joint statement. They firmly denied Jones' claims and said none of the remaining members had been abused. The also clarified that they were not aware of Jones' experiences.

"To liken our professional roles in The Pussycat Dolls to a prostitution ring not only undermines everything we worked hard to achieve for all those years but also takes the spotlight off the millions of victims who are speaking up and being heard loud and clear around the world," reads an excerpt from the group's statement.

Formed by Robin Antin in 2003, the Pussycat Dolls include Scherzinger, Melody Thornton, Ashley Roberts and Kimberly Wyatt.

While the band has already given their side of the story, Entertainment Weekly points out that their statement did not address the question Jones had for Antin. In one of her posts, Jones appeared to be asking Antin's comment on the suicide of one of her girl group members. There are speculations that she could be referring to G.R.L. member Simone Battle, who committed suicide in 2014.

Antin opened up about the issue on Monday and described the claims as "disgusting, ridiculous lies." Additionally, she criticized Jones for using the band to have "her 15 minutes." The actress/choreographer also mentioned that Jones never became an official member of the Pussycat Dolls. Instead, she just performed temporarily with the group before their first album came out in 2005.
