Rafael Nadal vs David Ferrer takes place in the French Open 2013 Men's Final with Nadal looking to become the first man to win a Grand Slam singles title eight times. The match can be watched online through free live stream (details below).
Nadal will be the overwhelming favorite to win in Sunday's final, and he holds an amazing 58-1 record at Roland Garros.
He said ahead of the match: "It will be a great day for the sport in Spain. It's very difficult to have two Spanish players in the final, so it's fantastic news."
For Ferrer this will be a special match – his first ever Grand Slam final. He is currently the world number 5, but at the age of 31 already, he will know opportunities at claiming a Grand Slam are running out. He will be desperate to raise his game and pull off a massive shock against Nadal today.
Ferrer has won just 4 games in his 23 meetings against Nadal. He has said, "I know he's the favourite, but I am going to be focused every point. I will try to do my best.
"I am not thinking about Rafael, whether he's better than me or not. I will try to fight a lot and to play a very good match."
Both Pete Sampras, and Roger Federer won a single Grand Slam seven times – both at Wimbledon. However, if Nadal wins today he will hold his eighth Grand Slam at Roland Garros and will surpass both those tennis legends.
Nadal said, "I don't feel like the favourite. I feel that I am a finalist. I arrived to the final playing well. I improved a little bit in every match during the tournament. That's important, to arrive to the final with the right feelings, but he [Ferrer] didn't lose a set during the whole tournament, so he's a player that brings you to the limit."
He added, "He's a player that if you are not playing perfect, you will be in big, big trouble."
