Rafael Nadal will play Novak Djokovic in the French Open 2014 Final on Sunday in a mouthwatering match up between the world numbers 1 and 2. The pair hold a very equal record against one another and this game could go either way. The match is scheduled to start at 9 a.m. ET on the Court Philippe Chatrier. The action can be watched on TV on the NBC network, or online through free live stream (details below).
These two players have fought each other 41 times, with Nadal having the slight edge in a 22-19 record.
However, since 2011 the pair have played each other 18 times, 16 of which have been in finals, and six of them coming in Grand Slams.
But in Paris, Nadal has the clear edge. In fact he has only lost once ever in the French Open, and if he wins today it will be his ninth French Open title in 10 years.
Djokovic meanwhile is looking to claim his first French Open title, which would complete his career Grand Slam. He has actually won his last four meetings against Nadal, however, looking more closely Nadal has won the last three when they were contested at Grand Slams.
Prior to this Grand Slam, Djokovic won the title in Rome, where he defeated Nadal 4-6, 6-3, 6-3. However, Nadal is undoubtedly playing much better now than three weeks ago when that loss occurred, and he has been nothing less than phenomenal in the manner he has reached the final.
In the French Open this year, Nadal has lost just one set over six matches, and in the semifinal against Britain's Andy Murray he lost just six games, winning the match three sets to love.
