'Rainbow Six Siege' News: Single-Player 'Situations' Mode Now Online

"Rainbow Six Siege" (RSS) recently released a new gameplay footage revealing that the single-player Situations mode is now online.

IGN previously teased an upcoming single-player mode in "Rainbow Six Siege" when the game is launched. It has been common knowledge among RSS fans that it does not have the traditional video game campaign, so those who want to play the game alone will have to do it using the Situations mode, according to iDigital Times.

Although "Rainbow Six Siege" was originally designed as a multiplayer game, there are still players who prefer to enjoy Tom Clancy's game alone. The Situations mode was developed to provide missions for single players, the Venture Capital (VC) Post explains.

The Situations mode will provide sole players with scenarios similar to the ones they will encounter when they play the game online. IGN says "Rainbow Six Siege" will offer 11 Situations by the time it is launched, and additional Situations may or may not be included in future updates, the report details.

Animation Director Scott Mitchell explained that Situations is not a campaign. In addition, it has no story line. However, it will teach players how to use the operators and mechanics in the game, according to a PlayStation Lifestyle report cited by VC Post.

Using the single-player mode, gamers will be able to get a good feel of the whole "Rainbow Six Siege" experience and acquaint themselves with the maps. The skills they will learn in the Situations mode will come in handy when they begin using the multiplayer mode as it will help them defend the team during actual combats and go past obstacles, Mitchell explains.

During a preview event, YouTuber Westie captured almost seven minutes of the "Rainbow Six Siege" gameplay footage of the single-player Situations mode.

As of now, "Rainbow Six Siege" versions are still being developed for various consoles including the PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.

"Rainbow Six Siege," which was developed by Ubisoft Montreal, was originally set to be released on Oct. 13. However, the final launch date has been moved to Dec. 1.
