'Rainbow Six Siege' Patch 2.1 Rolls Out To PC, Features 10-Player Custom Games, Spectator Camera
First-person shooter video game "Rainbow Six Siege" has recently been updated. According to a report by VG 24/7, developer Ubisoft has already released patch 2.1 for PC. It has brought along with it a lot of exciting stuff as well as bug fixes that will improve the game further.
The patch details have been posted by Ubisoft in its forums and it was shown there that there were some balancing done, some fixes made, and the ability to host custom games on dedicated servers was added. As noted on the patch details, the 10-player Custom Games can now be hosted on dedicated servers and this allows the game to have a fair gameplay environment. With that, competition among gamers become better.
It also detailed that by dedicated servers, it means that there will be no host advantage but it will have enhanced stability and cheating will be very difficult to do. Aside from that, Ubisoft has added the feature called the Spectator Camera. It will be made available on dedicated servers and it works by having an 11th person observing the matches taking place on those servers.
As of now, there are going to be limitations that gamers must take note of. First, there must be 10 players joining a Custom Game on dedicated servers in order for it start. Having a Spectator in the game can only be possible if the Spectator is the one who created the said game. Of course, there can only be one Spectator in every match.
The Custom Match will be disbanded if the match creator quits and that will happen even though the game is on dedicated servers. Another thing to note is that the matches are invite-only and there will only be 10 minutes allotted to fill the lobby. Also, players will not be able to return to a match that has already started if they leave or disconnect. Lastly, the match creator cannot create a new Custom Game on dedicated servers for 10 minutes if they close their previous Custom Game that is hosted on dedicated servers.
The limitations are not going to be permanent though as Ubisoft is on the works of making it more accessible and improving it over time. The update size is 1.2 GB and it will be arriving in consoles as well on Feb. 17.
