'Real Housewives of New York City' News: Bethenny Frankel Takes a Break From Relief Efforts
"Real Housewives of New York City" star Bethenny Frankel is taking a much-needed break after flying from one disaster-stricken area to another.
Frankel has been spotted relaxing poolside at Faena Hotel in Miami, Florida. Photographed in a white bikini, this housewife seemed to be taking all the time she needs to unwind. Perhaps she is just taking a little break before she continues to do her philanthropy.
The reality star took the initiative to raise funds for areas around the country as well as the rest of the world which have recently been devastated by natural disasters.
After helping out Texas and Mexico, she focused her efforts on Puerto Rico, which has been receiving little attention and relief after the hurricane.
On her social media, Frankel continues to raise awareness about the need to continue relief efforts especially in Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria ravaged the island, leaving its residents deprived of their basic needs, of electricity, and of proper medical care.
Frankel was able to charter four planes to the island, which they used to carry donations including water, canned goods, diapers, gift cards, and medical supplies.
On Bravo TV's blog, Frankel spoke out about how she borrowed planes from rich friends and used them for transport. Apart from supplies, the planes are also used to bring Puerto Ricans back, mainly cancer patients, the stick, and the wounded to the U.S. for medical treatment.
"And just like that, people just pull together. And then you're like, "I gotta fill this damn plane [and not waste any space or fuel]!" So Feeding America and City Harvest came with meals. Guardians of Rescue came with stuff for dogs. Someone came with insulin. I went to Costco for pediatric stuff. My friend, Warren, got us a satellite phone," she wrote.
Frankel flies off to the island to help out and see the devastation for herself.
Those who want to donate can do so through their official website.
