Robert Pattinson Brushes Off Kristen Stewart Affair as 'Normal' One Year After Painful Split
Robert Pattinson recently brushed off Kristen Stewart's affair with a married man more than one year after their split.
The British actor, 28, began dating his "Twilight" co-star, 24, in 2008, however, he was left heartbroken in 2012 when the actress admitted to cheating with her "Snow White And The Huntsman" director, Rupert Sanders. They eventually ended their relationship in 2013 and Pattinson was asked about the scandal in a new interview.
"S--- happens, you know? It's just young people ... it's normal! And honestly, who gives a s---?" Pattinson told Esquire magazine U.K.
Stewart, who previously admitted that she had no regrets following the affair, was reportedly dropped as "Snow White" in a "Snow White and the Huntsman" sequel due to the scandal. Pattinson revealed that the "hardest" part of the drama was discussing it publicly.
"The hardest part was talking about it afterwards. Because when you talk about other people, it affects them in ways you can't predict," he said.
'It's like that scene in 'Doubt,' where he's talking about how to take back gossip? They throw all those feathers from a pillow into the sky and you've got to go and collect all the feathers," he explained.
Pattinson previously revealed that while he and Stewart still speak, he has moved on with his life.
In a June interview the actor was asked about whether he is currently dating someone special and he candidly replied "no."
The reporter pressed Pattinson to confirm whether or not he is single at this time which prompted him to giggle.
"Yeah, so exciting!" he revealed.
Insiders claim the exes will always have a profound respect for one another however a future reconciliation is unlikely.
"They were definitely in love, but the relationship has run it's course and he is ready to move on," a source told HollywoodLife.com.
