Robert Pattinson Calls Off Engagement With FKA Twigs

Robert Pattinson and FKA Twigs have called it quits.

The "Twilight" star and English singer have split, reports confirmed. A source told Just Jared that the pair "broke up several months ago."

Pattinson, 31, and Twigs, 29, began dating in September 2014. Their engagement was revealed seven months later, with Pattinson fueling speculation about their relationship status in July. At the time, he told Howard Stern during an interview that they were only "kind of" engaged.

"It's one of the most frustrating things in the world," Pattinson told the host (via MTV). "You want to be able to [be more open and public], but it's literally like, you have to make this decision whether you want to let the crazy people in. You kind of think, like, to protect it, I want to create a big boundary, but then it makes it difficult for your actual relationship."

Pattinson spent the last few months promoting his latest film "Good Time," which is now playing in theaters. Twigs, on the other hand, has just released a new magazine called AVANTgarden that is exclusively available on Instagram. The magazine, which centers on hairstylist Rio Sreedharan's work, is only the first installment in an apparent series.

Meanwhile, Pattinson's breakup seemed to have brought him closer to longtime friend Katy Perry. The two have been good friends since 2013 and it is reported that Perry have been regularly checking in on Pattinson since his split from Twigs. Despite being on tour, the pop star allegedly makes sure to send Pattinson a text message to know how he's doing.

A different source, however, claimed to Celebrity Insider (via Metro) that there may be something more to Perry and Pattinson's friendship.
