'Rock Band 4' Update: January DLC Delayed to February; Contents Coming Include Bug Fixes, Psychonauts Gear, Audio Improvement
'Rock Band 4' fans will have to extend their patience as Harmonix recently announced that the treat they have for their fans is going to arrive a little later than expected. According to PlayStation Lifestyle, the game's upcoming update has been delayed to the first week of February.
It was previously announced that they would release the update on Jan. 26. However, due to the overdrive bug that was found back in December, they will have to move the release date in order to make the necessary steps in resolving the issue. Thus, Harmonix did not release any update this week. It will be coming out instead sometime between Feb. 1 and 5, as noted in the game's official blog site.
The developer also detailed what the gamers can expect to get once the update arrives to the game. First of all, they will be getting some audio improvements. They will also get some fixes for the score exploits which will involve wiping off to zero the leaderboard score to make things fair. Gamers will also be able to do leaderboard postings for Play a Show mode.
Moreover, Harmonix will also introduce "Rock Band 4's" new Psychonauts-themed gear, which will be available for free in the Rock Shop. iDigital Times noted that bringing the Psychonauts-themed gear is in celebration of developer Double Fine's recent announcement of a "Psychonauts 2" getting funded. Harmonix also promised that they will have new DLC for their gamers on Feb. 1 so they will have to stay tuned for more details about it.
The blog post also laid out their future plans for the game. As written in the post, the developers pledged that they will releasing updates on the same day each month. It's not fully detailed yet but the next update after February will be early March then followed by early April and so on.
Patch notes for the February update will be released soon so "Rock Band 4" gamers should watch out for it.
