'Rocket League' Confirmed for Nintendo Switch Release in November

Nintendo and game developer Psyonix has finally confirmed a date for the hit game "Rocket League's" Nintendo Switch release that will happen this November.

Earlier this week, Psyonix confirmed that "Rocket League" will be added to the Nintendo eShop library and will start to be on sale for Switch owners in the coming weeks.

In the statement, the developer also announced that the Switch version of "Rocket League" would support the console's native features such as wireless local multiplayer. This means that more Switch owners can play "Rocket League" and be competitive in the game's arena at the same time.

Meanwhile, as promised, Psyonix will launch "Rocket League" for the Nintendo Switch with all the game modes and contents it has created for the other gaming platforms. In fact, the developers have also added more features to the game's Switch port.

To celebrate the upcoming game port, Psyonix has added "Switch-exclusive" Battle-Cars named Mario NSR, Luigi NSR, and Samus' Gunship -- all of which were obviously inspired by classic Nintendo-made video game characters.

On Twitter, a player specifically asked about the "Rocket League" crates that would be made available on the Nintendo Switch upon launch. The game developer confirmed that the Switch version will also have the "the same Crates and Keys system" except for those that were released for special limited-time events such as the Champion's Series.

Fans will recall that back in June, Microsoft and Nintendo reached an agreement to support the cross-platform play feature for selected games. This allowed players of "Minecraft" and "Rocket League" using the PC, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch to interact with one another and made the games' fan communities more seamless.

Unfortunately, Sony has yet to allow cross-platform play for its PlayStation 4 console and has not been showing a positive response in terms of possibly featuring it for their players.

The release of "Rocket League" on the Nintendo Switch was first announced during the Electronic Entertainment Expo trade show last June during Nintendo's press event.

Nintendo Switch users can start purchasing "Rocket League" on Nov. 14 for $19.99.
