'Rocket League' Update Coming Next Month; Available for PC, PlayStation 4, Including Xbox One

"Rocket League" gamers can expect some treats next month as develop Psyonix has already confirmed that a new update will be coming to the physics-based vehicle soccer game. According to a report by IGN, the upcoming patch that will be released will mark the end of the game's first competitive season.

But it will not end just like that as it will be bringing along with it some exclusive rewards and item rarity tiers. Coming sometime in February, the update will add to the game some new "uncommon" item drops along with the "common," "premium," and "limited" items, as noted in the Steam update page for "Rocket League".

It detailed that some of the new uncommon items will be attainable only if gamers participate in the online multiplayer modes. Some of those items that will be coming along with the patch are toppers and antennas. There will be bronze, silver, gold and platinum variant crowns which will be given as car toppers.

Those who will receive the reward though are those who have reached at least the "Bronze" level or higher in ranked play. Gamers will get a crown based on their highest division ranks.

" For example, if a player was "Silver II" in 1v1 and "Gold I" in 2v2, the delivered Crown would be Gold," wrote community specialist Josh Watson.

PC Games N also reported that the upcoming patch will include an introduction of "Item Qualities." This means that the items will be marked with the use of a color-coding system that will help in labeling items in reference to "rarity and amount of use as they appear in the player's garage."

Common items or stock items will be labeled grey while premium items, which are obtained from paid DLC, will be marked green. Items available only during season or limited time promotional events will be labeled orange. The uncommon items, which are received after completing online-only matches, will be marked light blue.

The update will be available for PC and Playstation 4 users.  It is also available for Xbox One users even though the Xbox One version of the game is scheduled for release this February 2016.
