Ronda Rousey News: 'Rowdy' Not Returning At UFC 200 Due To Delay In Filming Of Road House Remake

Former UFC bantamweight queen Ronda Rousey will not be making her targeted return at UFC 200.

Even before she fought current champion Holly Holm at UFC 193 on November 15 of last year, "Rowdy" already declared her intention to "disappear" for a while and return on the said event.

But after being brutally knocked out by Holm using a single left kick to the jaw during the second round of their fight, Rousey was subsequently given a six-month medical suspension, leaving her no choice but to take a break from the action during the said time frame.

UFC 200 is scheduled to take place in July in Las Vegas. However, it looks like Rousey will not be back on the said monumental event.

In an interview with Yahoo! Sports veteran and multi-awarded columnist Kevin Iole, UFC president Dana White made the announcement about the sudden change of plans for the said fight card.

"The filming of the movie got pushed back," White said, referring to Rousey's involvement in the filming of the 1980's classic Road House. "She could do both, but the question is, should she do both? She could do both, but why should she?"

"The filming is in a time frame where she'd finish before 200, but it would be cutting it too close," he added.

Rousey is no stranger to having celebrity obligations in the middle of fight camp. In 2015, she was part of two major titles: the seventh installment of the "Fast and the Furious" series and the silver screen version of the HBO hit series "Entourage."

"Road House," however, is believed to be Rousey's biggest film project, as she will be taking on the starring role.

White, on the other hand, fully welcomed the idea of Rousey taking some time off, again pointing out her accomplishments with the company and what she has done for the rising popularity of the UFC and mixed martial arts as a sport.
