Ronda Rousey News: 'Rowdy' To Star Alongside Tina Fey In Feature Film; Rousey's Coach Hopeful For Better 2016

Former UFC bantamweight queen Ronda Rousey continues to fulfill more celebrity obligations as she keeps herself in the sidelines.

"Rowdy" last saw action in November 2015 at UFC 193, where she was brutally knocked out using one kick to her left jaw by current champion Holly Holm in the second round of their bout. After the fight, doctors gave her a six-month medical suspension, keeping her out of action until the middle of the year.

Recently, UFC president Dana White announced that Rousey would not be returning to July's UFC 200 as previously stated since the filming for her recent starring role in the 1980's "Road House" remake has been delayed.

However, it looks like another film role is in the works for the 28-year-old mixed martial arts fighter. In a report by Deadline.com (through MMA Fighting), Rousey will be starring alongside veteran comedienne Tina Fey in a film entitled "Do Nothing Bitches."

It is a film based on a previous statement Rousey had made, where she fired back at critics who were ripping her for having a muscular physique. The said statement where she uttered the phrase "Do Nothing Bitch" was made in the "Embedded" episode leading up to her August 2015 fight against Bethe Correia at UFC 190. The report adds that Universal Pictures has already purchased the pitch.

Meanwhile, Ronda Rousey's coach Edmond Tarverdyan is hopeful for a better year ahead. Tarverdyan was heavily criticized by fans for the manner he handled the corner work during Rousey's recent fight against Holm. Rousey's own mother AnnMaria De Mars has been highly critical of Tarverdyan, as well.

In an interview with MMA Fighting, Tarverdyan says he is ready to put the past year behind him.

"Everybody works hard, everybody's passionate about what they do," he said. "Last year was a tough year a little bit for us, but it's 2016. They've got to learn from their losses, and we've go to step it up and show what we are capable of doing."
