RuPaul only announced nine of the 10 upcoming contenders. Some suspect Valentina from season 9 will be given a second chance to redeem herself after her failed attempt at the lip-sync showdown.

Music legend Chaka Khan was with the show's host when the season 3 roster was announced. Snaps of the returning queens in a gold-themed poster were also shared on social media.

"This is a competition. Trust your instincts, trust yourself, and then lay back, and see what it do. Let it do what it do," RuPaul said in advance of the competitors.

Now in its ninth season, "RuPaul's Drag Race" has finally earned the attention they deserved. Since their debut on Logo in 2009, the latest season is by far the most-watched in the lineup. Because of their recent transfer to VH1, the Lady Gaga-led premiere garnered nearly 1 million viewers, earning them eight Emmy nominations, and three of which they won earlier this year.

It was Sasha Velour who won the title of America's Next Drag Superstar in the latest season.

The third season of "RuPaul's Drage Race All-Stars" should premiere sometime in 2018 on VH1.
