Samsung Galaxy Gear S2 Release News: AT&T to Accept Pre-Orders Starting Nov. 6
AT&T has announced that it will begin pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy Gear S2 and another Android-based wearable on Nov. 6.
On Tuesday, the U.S. wireless carrier said it will begin accepting pre-orders for the new smartwatches ahead of the official launch. Starting Nov. 6, customers can start pre-ordering the Samsung Galaxy Gear S2 and LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE from AT&T, according an iDigital Times report cited by Realty Today.
Both smartwatches will be compatible with the NumberSync feature, which will allow users to use a single phone number on different mobile gadgets. AT&T users can use this feature to make calls and send text messages from their smartwatch even without the use of their phone. The feature will be available early next year, the report relays.
On Nov. 6, customers can preorder the Gear S2 and Watch Urbane 2nd Edition from AT&T online and physical stores. They can either pay $199.99 and avail of the two-year plan or choose the zero downpayment option with a $15 monthly installment plan for 20 months, Phone Arena reports.
The Samsung Galaxy Gear S2 has a 1.2-inch round screen with rotating bezel. It runs on a 1.0 GHz dual-core chip with 512 of RAM and 4 GB of storage. The smartwatch s powered by a 250 mAh cell battery, which can last for two or three days. Aside from that, the device has an accelerometer, a heart rate monitor, gyroscope, ambient-light sensor, microphone, and a barometer, the report details.
The LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE, on the other hand, boasts of a 1.38-inch P-OLED round screen with a resolution of 480 x 480 pixels. The smartwatch runs Android Wear and is powered by a 570 mAh battery. The device has 768 MB of RAM and 4 GB of storage.
The Samsung Galaxy Gear S2 will be officially launched on Nov. 20, while the LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE will be released on Nov. 13.
