Galaxy Note 4 vs Nexus 6: Which Phablet Will Rule the Market?
The Galaxy Note 4 has only been out for less than a month and it already faces stiff competition from other phablets in the market. Among those contenders is the Motorola Nexus 6 phablet, which has only entered the market just recently.
Phones only seem to get bigger and bigger with each release, with phablets just merely skimming the size border between the phablet and tablet. Most other manufacturers have decided to steer clear away from such big sized phones but seemingly, the market trend is into phones bigger than 5-inches.
Screen size isn't everything but bigger is definitely better as it fits more apps, more typing space, and more video viewing room. The Nexus 6 boasts a 5.96-inch AMOLED touchscreen with a display resolution of 2560 x 1440. The Note 4 also features the same QHD resolution as the Nexus 6 but has a smaller Super AMOLED display measuring at 5.7-inches.
The Nexus 6 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset with a quad-core 2.7GHz processor and an Adreno 420 GPU. There are two storage options for the Nexus 6, the 32GB variant and the 64GB variant both with 3GB RAM. There is no microSD card support, much like its predecessor the Nexus 5.
The Galaxy Note 4 has the same specs as the Nexus 6 albeit with a different set of storage options. It only has a 32GB version but with the same 3GB of RAM however, the Note 4 supports microSD cards of up to 128GB.
Both run on Android but the Nexus 6 comes out of the box with the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop while most Note 4 users are still stuck with the Android 4.4.4 Kitkat. While Samsung will definitely upgrade its phones to Lollipop eventually, it has not announced plans yet as it is struggling to bring 4.4.4 Kitkat to its user base.
