Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Bags 'World's Best Smartphone Display'
Looks like Samsung refuses to retire the title of "world's best smartphone display" with its new flagship smartphone, the Galaxy Note 7.
And it isn't even out on the markets yet. Set for global release on August 19, the Note 7, Samsung's latest phablet, sports a 5.7 inch Quad-HD Super AMOLED screen, made with the latest Corning Gorilla Glass.
Most innovative display
With its advanced OLED display and a curved-edge screen, an extensive research by Displaymate, which is widely recognized for its comprehensive series of tests on phone displays, concluded that the Galaxy Note 7 has the most innovative, highest performance screen display they have tested, well surpassing two its own kind--the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and S7.
Among its winning features, the study determined, are its high peak brightness (over 1,000 nits), wide color gamut (or the range of colors that the phone can use), high contrast rating in ambient light, high screen resolution (2560 x 1440), low screen reflectance (4.6), as well as small variation in brightness regardless of the viewing angle (21 percent).
Easier to view im direct sunlight
In simpler terms, this means that the new Galaxy Note 7 will be much easier to view in direct sunlight and bright conditions, especially with its interactive automatic brightness control.
Beyond this, the phablet also uses a curved screen and an always-on display that allows users to discreetly glance at their screen for the time, date, and battery life, even when the screen is asleep. This same technology also allows its users to jot down Off Screen Notes using the S-Pen.
This goes to show that the tech giant continues to innovate in its hardware and design, proving itself to be a strong player in the Android market.
Good to excellent rating
In virtually all the measures for display performance, Samsung's newest smartphone scores "good" to "excellent," according to Displaymate President Raymord Soneira. In fact, Soneira was so impressed with the Galaxy Note 7's performance, that he commented that the smartphone might as well have been named Note 8, to be more in sync with its impressive and advanced technology.
