Samsung Galaxy S6 Active Release Date Hits US, But Only Exclusively Available From AT&T
After months of speculation as to whether Samsung would launch and follow its tradition in releasing a rugged flagship, the Galaxy S6 Active has finally been announced, and will hit the U.S. initially.
Unfortunately, the good news ended once people discover that the device is currently only available from AT&T. In the report by GSM Arena, the rugged Android-powered smartphone will be available from the U.S. network provider beginning on June 12.
Some of the offered promos include the $0 down on AT&T Next program with $23.17 with 30 device payments on Next SM 243, $28.96 per month at 24 payments on Next 18, or $34.75 per month at 20 payments on Next 12.
So what are we expecting from this year's rugged Galaxy S6?
In the report, the device will feature a stunning metal design that secures the device from falls. There is a thermal and shock protection feature that will bring more peace of mind for Android users.
The Galaxy S6 Active also boasts water resistance, and people can take it underwater up to 1.5 meters deep for about 30 minutes.
Under the hood lies a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display with QHD or 2K (2560 x 1440) resolution, 3GB of RAM, and the same Exynos 7420 chipset. Unfortunately, the device only has a 32GB built-in memory which cannot be expanded. The device has a 3,500mAh battery which is reportedly 40 percent higher than that of the Galaxy S6.
