Samsung Galaxy S7, S7 Edge, S7 Edge+ Rumors: Samsung To Launch Three Devices In One Big Event?

While the launch of Samsung's next set of flagship devices, the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge, seem imminent, a recent leak indicates that the Korean company may have one more device up its sleeve. According to a Tech Times report, Samsung may be planning to launch not just two, but three flagship devices, which includes the Galaxy S7 Edge+, during the upcoming Mobile World Congress in March.

Last year, Samsung held an Unpacked event during the Mobile World Congress where it unveiled the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge. The Galaxy S6 Edge+ was launched separately in August 2015. This year may be an exception to this predictable schedule as recent leaks point to a big event that will launch all three devices.

The leak comes courtesy of known tipster Evan Blass who released an image, through this Twitter account @evleaks, of what looked like the logos of the Galaxy S7, the Galaxy S7 Edge and the Galaxy S7 Edge+. It may also be assumed by looking at his tweet that Samsung is planning a big event for the launch. The next big technology event where this is most likely to happen is the upcoming Mobile World Congress in March, to be held in Barcelona.

Some of the rumored specs of the S7 line-up of devices include a switch back to Qualcomm Snapdragon processors, instead of Samsung's own Exynos chipset. The S7 series of devices are said to have the latest Snapdragon 820 chipset. In terms of RAM, the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge are rumored to have a bigger RAM of 4 GB, compared to the 3 GB of their predecessors.

In terms of display size, the S7 and the S7 Edge will likely retain its 5.1-inch screen size, while the S7 Edge+ may get a smaller, 5.5-inch display, as opposed to the 5.7-inch of the S6 Edge+.

New features that are rumored to be on the new devices include fast charging support, a retina scanner and pressure-sensitive technology. The devices will come pre-installed with Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Samsung has not made any official announcements about the S7 series yet.
