Samsung Galaxy S8 vs Google Pixel 2 Specs Rumors: Both Expected to Come in the Same Size with Powerful Cameras
The Samsung Galaxy S8 and Google Pixel 2 are still bound for release by their respective manufacturers. But even without confirmed specs and official details, enthusiasts are already comparing the two phones based on their rumored specifications and features.
However, both devices are confirmed to be released by this year and are expected to compete with up-and-coming handsets such as the iPhone 8 and LG's G6 - all flagship phones of leading technology companies.
Before listing each handset's rumored specs, the Google Pixel 2 is expected to have better chances among phone users following Samsung's recent issue with the exploding batteries from its Samsung Note 7 model.
Samsung, on the other hand, is under a lot of pressure. But enthusiasts expect that the debacle might lead to better improvements for upcoming Samsung smartphones, and all eyes are on this year's Samsung Galaxy S8.
Interestingly enough, both the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Google Pixel 2 are rumored to come in similar or exactly the same 5 to 6-inch display sizes, and both will supposedly have very good cameras.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 is speculated to sport a 12-megapixel rear dual-camera and an 8-megapixel front camera, plus it is rumored to come with an iris scanner. The Google Pixel 2 still has no definite specs for its camera, but it is also speculated to come with a dual-lens camera.
Under the hood, nothing seems certain yet as speculations for the Samsung Galaxy S8's processor includes either the Qualcomm SnapDragon 835 or the Exynos 8895. Its RAM and internal storage capacity is also getting a wide range of estimates - with either a RAM of 4 up to 6GB and an internal storage of 64GB and 128GB.
The Pixel 2 is also speculated to run with a Qualcomm SnapDragon 835, and may have a RAM worth 4GB or 6GB with 32GB up to 128GB internal storage capacity, depending on the variant. The Pixel 2, however, is not expected to come with SD Card-support like its predecessor.
As for battery life, it seems like the Galaxy S8 will pump up its power with a rumored capacity of 3000mAh (assuming it won't explode). Pixel 2, however, has a speculated 3500mAh battery capacity, so if it is true, it would be better-powered than the Galaxy S8.
As for their operating systems, the Google Pixel 2 will obviously have the upper hand when it comes to Android updates, though the Galaxy S8 is expected to carry the new Android Nougat.
