Samsung Tab S3 vs.Google Nexus 7 2016: Which is Better? Specs, Features, Release Dates, Prices and More [DETAILS]

Two tablet titans are coming our way soon: the Samsung Tab S3 and the Google Nexus 7 206, and they are set to prove that Android tablets aren't a dying breed yet. With both as expected leaders of the tablet market, which one should tablet users gun for? We've rounded up everything you need to know about the Samsung Tab 3 and the Google Nexus 7 to give you a better idea of what to expect: from specifications and features to prices and release dates.

Specifications and features

The Samsung Tab S3, Samsung's latest flagship tablet, is said to be powered by either the Exynos 8890 chip or the Snapdragon 820 instead. It is also suggested to run on 3GB RAM, with 32GB and 64GB internal storage variants, packed within 8- and 9.7-inch models. The Samsung Tab S3 will have a 4,000 mAH battery life, and will support a Super AMOLED screen with 2080p resolution and possible 4K display capacity.

Meanwhile, the Google Nexus 7 2016, said to be built by Huawei, is expected to run on either the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 or the NVidia Tegra X1, with 4GB RAM and a whopping 2TB internal storage capacity support. It is smaller than the Samsung Tab S3 at 7 inches

Software and upgrades

If we're talking Android, though, a Google-made device is practically unparalleled, whether it be a phone or a tablet. It is because Google, apart from basically being the OS creator, runs the purest form of Android with no bloatware whatsoever, as we can safely assume with the Nexus 7 2016. It is rumored to come with the latest Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box, so that's another advantage.

The Samsung Tab S3 is expected to run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, though that is not necessarily a bad thing since Google just launched the OS update nine months ago. This follows the release of the Galaxy Note 7, which runs on the same OS. It is also likely to upgrade to a waterproof build.

Price and release dates

The Samsung Tab S3 was largely anticipated during the Samsung event in IFA Berlin 2016, so it came as a surprise when the tablet went unmentioned during the event. Nevertheless, the Samsung flagship tablet is bound to come our way before the year ends, and may probably cost $399 and $499 for the 8- and 9-inch models, respectively.
