'Scream' Season 3 Updates: Tyler Posey Joins Cast as Illegal Drug Dealer and Party Promoter

After playing a werewolf in "Teen Wolf" which finally took a bow recently after six seasons, Tyler Posey is joining the cast ensemble of the rebooted "Scream" season 3.

While the other cast members of "Teen Wolf" are taking a break from TV appearances after the series aired its final episode last month, the same thing cannot be said about Posey as it has been announced recently that the actor will be joining the rebooted version of "Scream" season 3.

According to reports, Posey will be breathing life into the character of Shane, a high school dropout who makes money by dealing illegal drugs and promoting parties. Whether Posey's character will be one of the targets of the series' new killer, no one really knows for now.

To recall, it was suspected last year that MTV's version of the thriller series, which was inspired by the 1996 movie of the same title that was written by Kevin Williamson and directed by Wes Craven, would be canceled due to poor performance in the rating game. However, MTV eventually announced that the series would go on, only that it will be a soft reboot with a completely new cast ensemble.

As already reported earlier, "Scream'' season 3 would cast the spotlight on Deion ("Power Rangers" actor RJ Cyler), an ambitious young man who is hoping to secure a college scholarship outside Atlanta, Georgia. Things, however, will change for Deion after a killer will target him and his friends as the next victims.

Meanwhile, apart from Posey and Cyler, "Scream" season 3 has also ushered Keke Palmer ("Scream Queens"), Giorgia Whigham ("13 Reasons Why"), Jessica Sula ("Skins"), and Giullian Yao Gioiello ("Julie's Greenroom") into the series in addition to the earlier announced cast members, including Tyga and C.J. Wallace .

"Scream" season 3 has hired the services of former "The Vampire Diaries" and "Supernatural" writer Brett Matthews to be the series showrunner, while Queen Latifah, Shakim Compere, and Yaneley Arty will serve as executive producers.

"Scream" season 3 is currently in production and is slated to air over MTV as a three-night event in March 2018.
