Sea Isle City Police Arrest Couple for Sex on the Beach

Sea Isle City police arrested a couple for allegedly having sex on the New Jersey beach Sunday. Matthew McPeak, 27, and Stephanie Wallington, 23, most likely thought the surf was concealing them from onlookers and the public, but they thought wrong.

McPeak and Wellington, originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, had been on the beach among the waves at about 4 p.m. Onlookers spotted them appearing to have intimate relations with each other, and soon enough, the authorities arrived to look into the incident.

When Sea Isle City officers approached the young couple and ordered them to stop and get out of the water, McPeak did, but Wellington couldn't get out immediately— she had trouble tying her bikini bottom back on, eyewitnesses, told CBS Philly.

A crowd began to form as police arrested both of them for lewdness and slapped the handcuffs on. Some even took pictures, including Instagram user @mjg381, who uploaded the picture not long afterwards.

"Sex in the ocean? Not on Sea Isle's watch #fatuglyanddrunk," he captioned the photo, which depicted McPeak in handcuffs and surrounded by four police officers.

Although the frisky couple was led away in cuffs, some families with young children decided to leave the beach after the lewd display.

McPeak and Wallington were both charged with lewdness in the fourth degree, released, and issued summonses. Neither of them have commented on their conduct on the public N.J. beach.
