Selena Gomez News: Selena Admits It's Been a Tough 2015 But Still Gives This Year 8 Out of 10

Selena Gomez has been in the limelight since she was 10 after landing a role in "Barney & Friends" in 2002. Now that she's 23, the former Disney actress says that her life experiences have shaped her into who and what she is today. With a lot of things that happened to her this year, she says that 2015 still scored "a good 8" for her.

Selena is part of Billboard's Women in Music, and the music chart topper admits that she had to go through a lot of things this year. "A lot of ups and downs, but they helped shape who I am," the celebrity admitted.

Earlier this year, the singer faced some body-shaming issues when she was told to be overweight, according to Mirror UK. Selena has gotten past that issue now, and even posed nude for the album art of her newest album "Revival."

However, her critics did not stop at pointing out her "weight" issues. Selena said during her interview with Billboard that some questioned her after posing naked, whereas others consider posing naked and with a woman on top as something "artistic." "But that's looked at as a piece of art, whereas people are questioning my album cover -- or my character."

Selena also admitted that she was diagnosed with Lupus, which is why she went on a hiatus from showbiz. "I've been through chemotherapy," she said. "I could've had a stroke," she added. Selena also added that she was hurt when other rumors started surfacing during the time when she was actually trying to get better. "I wanted so badly to say, 'You guys have no idea. I'm in chemotherapy," Selena said.

The pop star had to wait until she was better to talk about it that's why the announcement came late. "I'm not trying to be loud about it," the singer said. Selena is now getting support from everyone after all that she's gone through, which she greatly appreciates.
