Selena Gomez News: Singer-Actress Spotted on Set of New Woody Allen Film; How Did She Keep Her Surgery and Recovery a Secret?
Selena Gomez definitely surprised everyone when she revealed she had previously undergone kidney transplant surgery.
On Sept. 15, pop star Selena Gomez took to Instagram to share a rather peculiar photo of herself in a hospital bed together with a friend. It is then revealed that the "Kill 'Em With Kindness" singer had previously undergone a kidney transplant surgery over the summer because of her Lupus. She also expressed her utmost gratitude to her friend, fellow actress Francia Raisa, who donated her kidney to Gomez.
"There aren't words to describe how I can possibly thank my beautiful friend Francia Raisa. She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me. I am incredibly blessed. I love you so much sis," she says in the Instagram post.
Raisa's selfless act has proven that true friendship still exists in this world. Gomez and Raisa had been friends for several years now going as far back as her Disney days.
Fans of the singer had long been wondering why Gomez was rather quiet through most of the summer despite having just released new music. Now, it has been revealed that the reason for her silence was that she had been recovering from the surgery.
But how was she able to keep this all a secret? The answer is that she actually didn't. Last month, Gomez attended a screening for a film and there she had revealed that she was on bed rest.
Now, it looks like the 25-year-old singer-actress has fully recovered from the ordeal and was just recently spotted getting busy with actor Timothee Chalamet on the set of her upcoming film with Woody Allen. The film's title is yet to be revealed, and given the secrecy of Woody Allen when it comes to his projects, fans would have to wait a while before they find out what the movie is going to be called. Elle Fanning also appears in the film.
