Serena Williams Baby News: Tennis Pro's Daughter Might be Athletic too
Professional tennis player Serena Williams and fiancé Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian's newborn daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr., might be taking after her mama.
As expected of new parents, the couple cannot get enough of their newborn daughter. Williams posts regularly about Alexis Olympia on social media. And this proud mother admitted, "I am having a hard time posting about anything that does not involve Alexis Olympia or something to do with her."
More recently, they posted a photo on Olympia's official Instagram page of her bundled up in a tiny Gatorade blanket while she was sleeping.
Olympia looks like a natural at endorsing sports brands, just like the tennis champ.
Williams also shared a snap of her daughter flexing her muscles. She sported a onesie with a message that read, "Smart and Strong like my Mama."
In another photo, Olympia can be seen wide awake, looking ready for fun, while Williams was knocked out most definitely from the lack of sleep. The caption reads, "Mama never sleeps. When she does, I go on adventure with daddy. 'Come on!'"
Williams and Ohanian named their baby after her father; thus, the suffix. This is quite unique given that the suffix is mostly given to boys. Moreover, they opted for a different second name. While the Reddit co-founder's middle name is Kerry, they chose Olympia for their daughter, a name that exudes femininity.
Alexis Olympia was born on Wednesday, Sept. 1, weighing 6 pounds and 14 ounces.
The athlete surprised many of her fans when she announced her pregnancy last April, especially when they learned she was already expecting when she won the Australian open earlier this year.
Williams should return to the court next year.
