'Sex and the City 3' News: Sarah Jessica Parker Confirms Film is Canned; Kim Cattrall Allegedly Demanded Too Much

Sarah Jessica Parker has confirmed that a third installment to the movie franchise of "Sex and the City" will no longer happen. Meanwhile, Kim Cattrall's alleged demands could be the reason the film is not pushing through.

Parker, who portrays the famous Carrie Bradshaw from "Sex and the City," recently confirmed at the New York City Ballet Gala that a third movie in the franchise will not be happening.

"It's over... we're not doing it," Parker told Extra.

Parker added that she was disappointed over the decision to discontinue the third film because of how good the script was.

"We had this beautiful, funny, heart-breaking, joyful, very relatable script and story. It's not just disappointing that we don't get to tell the story and have that experience, but more so for that audience that has been so vocal in wanting another movie," explained the actress.

According to Daily Mail, Warner Bros. already gave the green light to produce "Sex and the City 3." However, the project was canned allegedly because of Cattrall's demands.

Cattrall, who plays Samantha in the franchise, allegedly demanded that Warner Bros. also produce other films that she's currently involved in, in exchange for her commitment to the third "Sex and the City" film.

Warner Bros. didn't agree with Cattrall's alleged demands, which would result in the actress backing out on the third sequel.

Because of that, the studios decided that it was best to can "Sex and the City 3" rather than to push through with only three main characters — Carrie, Miranda (Cynthia Nixon), and Charlotte (Kristin Davis) — who have all agreed to appear in the sequel.

Some sources close to the project think that Cattrall was in no position to demand highly in exchange for her participation. Another source said that fans of the franchise will have to miss the wonderful story that is "Sex and the City 3" because of Cattrall's attitude.
