'Shin Megami Tensei: Synchronicity Prologue' PC Version Released for Free
A new side-scrolling adventure game called "Shin Megami Tensei: Synchronicity Prologue" has been released on PC for free.
The "Megami Tensei" series is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, and to celebrate this milestone, the Japanese publisher of the post-apocalyptic game series, Atlus, has released a new game in the form of the sidescroller-type "Shin Megami Tensei: Synchronicity Prologue." However, fans of the series should know that there is an expiration date on the game's status as it will only be available for free download until Dec. 24.
Just last week Atlus had released a trailer for their upcoming 3DS game "Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux" featuring what seems to be a supposedly fake "Synchronicity Prologue," but as it turned out, the game is genuine albeit in a limited timeframe. "Shin Megami Tensei: Synchronicity Prologue" was developed by the team behind the PC game "Pharaoh Rebirth+," Den-fami Nico Game Magazine's Ladybug team. In Atlus' website, the developers even left a message about the new game saying, "It is an honor to be able to spin off the big title called True Megami Tensei. I am happy that all the creators will play with many people."

The game won't be related to "Strange Journey Redux." But for those who wish to know what "Shin Megami Tensei: Synchronicity Prologue" is all about, it basically features Atlus' mascot Jack Frost and its Halloween counterpart, Jack O'Lantern. In the game, players get to take control of Jack Frost and Jack O'Lantern as they venture forth into the ever-mysterious Black Forest Barth.
What's interesting about the game is that it mostly features 2D environments, which is a feat that's definitely appealing to gamers who gravitate towards the classics. Furthermore, the game will be in Japanese, but it wouldn't be too hard for non-Japanese speaking players to get the gist of what is happening in the game.
