'Sleepy Hollow' Season 3 Spoilers: Ezra's Story Unravels

The second half of "Sleepy Hollow" will start off with a new mystery that will reveal more about the characters Ezra, Abbie, and Jenny.

It was revealed that Ezra, played by James McDaniel, will be a main focus when the series returns to the small screen. So far, the only things fans know about the character is that he had left his family years ago due to his incapability to deal with his wife's condition.

Meanwhile, the executive producer of the series, Clifton Campbell, spoke to TV Line about Ezra's portrayal on the show. He stated, "There was a picture painted of him early on that was the guy who ran off, who couldn't deal, and who fled. It's very nice to find that that's not necessarily true, and the part of it that is true is much more realized in the back half."

Since it was revealed that Abbie and Jenny's mother did not actually suffer from a mental condition, it is possible that Ezra could have his own reasons for leaving the family. With that, another executive producer, Albert Kim, explained some major details about how Ezra will relate to the sisters.

He said, "He's been a figure of mystery for both Abbie and Jenny for most of their lives. It becomes clear how much was missing from his perspective. He has more in his past that we don't know about that will come to bear on Abbie and Jenny's story."

In addition, fans have been wondering about Abbie's fate in the story since the midseason finale showed her entering the tree of Pandora in order to save Jenny. There are reports stating that she could be reunited with another vital character of the series, Ichabod Crane.

With that, fans will have to wait until Feb. 1 to catch the "Sleepy Hollow" season 3 on FOX again.
