Snoop Lion Looking to Follow in Jay-Z's Footsteps as a Sports Agent?
Snoop Lion, the 41-year-old rapper who recently changed his moniker from Snoop Dogg, may be looking to become a sports agent.
Snoop, the California-based entertainer who was born Calvin Cordozar Broadus, recently revealed that he has been thinking about becoming a sports booking agent, a venture that is currently being pursued by fellow rap mogul Jay-Z.
The California rapper recently spoke about the possibilities when he was questioned about which industries he would like to pursue aside from music.

"Maybe the sports marketing agency as far as getting players to sign with me as a sports agent -- and there's a lot of kids that come out of my football league that are venturing off into the NFL and different sports and they're going to need direction and management so that may be a field that I want to venture in," the rapper and coach of a youth football league revealed to AOL Boombox recently.
After Jay-Z made headlines for his own new sports management company called Roc Nation Sports, Snoop said he took notice.
"I commend him for that, that's what we should do when we get to the certain point that we're at," Snoop told AOL Boombox. "We're influential to athletes and we're very business minded and savvy so what better way to do than our way?"
While Snoop has yet to fully commit to the idea of becoming a sports agent, Jay-Z's sports management company is affiliated with mega firm CAA. However, the National Football League Player's Association must certify him as an agent in the NFL.
Still, the rapper has already acquired some talent at his new agency. Robinson Cano, New York Yankees second baseman, announced that he would sign on with Jay-Z's company earlier this month.
"At this point in my career, I am ready to take a more active role in my endeavors on and off the field," Cano said in a statement obtained by ESPN earlier this month. "I am confident that the pairing of Roc Nation Sports and CAA Sports will be essential in helping me accomplish my short- and long-term goals. I am making this important decision now so I can keep my focus on helping the Yankees succeed in 2013, while minimizing any distractions for me and my teammates."
