'Spider-Man 2017' News: What Makes 'Spider-Man' Different from Other Marvel Heroes, According to Tom Holland

Spider-Man has a new actor, and for those who still haven't heard, the big role landed on Tom Holland's lap. The English actor will be seen first as Spider-Man in "Captain America: Civil War" next year, but will also star in his solo film this 2017. The 19-year-old actor/dancer revealed that what makes his character different from the other heroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is that Spidey's alter ego, Peter Parker, remains a secret.

The young actor was recently interviewed by Super Hero Hype, and revealed a few tidbits about his character. Holland said that most of the other MCU heroes' identities are already known to many, unlike his character, Spider-Man. "I think it's quite interesting to go back to that hiding behind a mask," he added.

Holland will be seen first in Chris Hemsworth's latest movie, "In the Heart of the Sea," and then in "Pilgrimage," before he plays Spider-Man in Chris Evan's next "Captain America" movie. The teenager admits that the superhero he'll play is a major influence in his life since Spider-Man is someone that "everybody can relate." "I have always been a huge fan of Spider-Man, and growing up, I had countless Spider-Man costumes," Holland shared.

Holland was not seen in the last "Captain America: Civil War" trailer, but the young celebrity said that the other cast have been welcoming to him, even if they were already big Hollywood actors like Robert Downey Jr. "They're lovely people," he said. "Robert did my first screen test and he was so welcoming. He took me aside and gave me a little advice about the audition. Like with Ron (Howard), I just felt at ease with him, 'cause he's just a down to earth easy-going guy, and I can't wait to get to work with them more. I'm really excited to get to work and be a part of that universe," Holland added.

Meanwhile, according to Franchise Herald, RDJ backed up Holland, and assured Marvel fans that the young actor won't disappoint. Loyal followers of Spider-Man are excited to see what the new actor would bring once the "Spider-Man" film premieres in 2017.
