'Star Fox Zero' Release Date Delayed Due to Bad Reviews?
Nintendo has delayed the "Star Fox Zero" release date to 2016, and this move reportedly suggests that the company may be trying its best to bounce from the bad reviews it received during the E3 2015.
When "Star Fox Zero" was unveiled at the E3 2015, critics pounded the game for its resemblance to "Star Fox 64," bad graphics, and absence of multiplayer mode. Although Nintendo has the habit of delaying games, skipping a major holiday release is a sign that "Star Fox Zero" is still not ready, iDigital Times reports.
"Star Fox Zero" was originally set to be launched in December 2015, but based on the latest updates, the game is now expected to come out by spring of 2016, according to a Shacknews report cited by Christian Today.
Nintendo has not released a "Star Fox" game in so many years, but it made good on its promise to resurrect the game. However, the unveiling at the E3 2015 exposed a lot of issues about "Star Fox Zero" that Nintendo has to deal with, the report details.
Unlike "Super Mario" and "Zelda" games, "Star Fox" is not the type of game that will become an automatic hit. However, it has the potential to soar high if it gets good reviews. The initial reaction of the public to the game's big reveal may be one of the major factors that caused the delay in the release date. There are even some rumors that Nintendo may be working on a multiplayer just to satisfy customers, but this is still unconfirmed.
"Star Fox Zero" co-director Yusuke Hashimoto explained that their team wants players to have the best quality experience when they play the game. For this reason, they are improving the game's levels and cut scenes, thus the delay, the report relays.
"Star Fox Zero" is designed to work on the Wii U GamePad and the television. Fans can expect something totally different from the game when it is finally released by spring of 2016.
