'Star' Season 2 Spoilers: New Label Head Orders a Rebranding of the Girls' Image
Next week on "Star," the new label head will force their recording artists to rebrand their image in hope of becoming better contenders in the music scene.
In episode 2 of "Star" season 2, titled "Insecure," Star (Jude Demorest) will decide to deal with the problems herself. But tensions between her and Carlotta will only escalate in the process. The girls, Alex (Ryan Destiny), Simone (Brittany O'Grady), and Cotton (Amiyah Scott), will struggle because of this life-changing decision.
FOX's musical drama "Star" is back for its second season. While the premiere introduced Lee Daniels' "Empire" characters, fans should expect to more of them appear in succeeding episodes.
As expected, Carlotta (Queen Latifah) met the CEO of Empire Entertainment, Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard) and Cookie Lyon (Taraji P. Henson) in the season opener.
When Deadline asked "Empire" executive producer Ilene Chaiken if they saw last Wednesday's crossover was a natural fit as a season opener for both of the shows, she answered with a resounding "yes."
She continued, "this was obviously something that the network is really excited about, it makes sense to cross over the two worlds."
Daniels, on the other hand, never imagined "Star" to be part of the "Empire" story. The creator previously stated that he had always viewed both as separate shows. It was only until the network suggested the idea that he started seeing it as a possibility. Eventually, he was pretty confident about the crossover.
"At eight, you're going to see glamour, you're going to see the height of success. And what we see at 9 o'clock is the grounded-ness of what the struggle is," Daniels said about the shows airing back-to-back.
This crossover will be a first for both of the Lee Daniels shows.
"Star" season 2 airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. EDT on FOX.
