'Stranger Things 2' Teaser: New Chapter Titles Revealed
A new teaser for the second season of "Stranger Things" hints at what should be expected from the series. The Duffer brothers' hit supernatural thriller "Stranger Things" returns to Netflix later this month.
The trailer reveals some of the chapter titles for the upcoming season. "Mad Max," "Trick or Treat Freak," "The Pollywog," "Will the Wise," "Dig Dug," and "The Spy." Assuming the revealed titles are in order, then the eighth, ninth, and tenth are still a mystery.
Creators Matt and Ross Duffer previously stated that they changed the chapter titles because fans were smart enough to figure out the storylines from the titles alone. "Mad Max" and "Pollywog" are among the original names revealed last Aug.
The creators confirmed last month that the second season is officially called "Stranger Things." They admitted that the network was apprehensive at first, stating how sequels are often seen as a terrible version. They eventually got their point across, when they referred to shows like "T2," "Aliens," and "Toy Story 2."
"It's all connected to this singular threat, which is tied into this shape that Will sees in the sky. Each episode is building on the last one. It gets much crazier than it ever got in Season 1," Ross Duffer, the other half of the famous Duffer Brothers, said.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, published in the October issue of the publication, the creators shared that the supernatural threat this season will be called "shadow monster."
"It's all connected to this singular threat, which is tied into this shape that Will sees in the sky," Ross teased. "Each episode is building on the last one. It gets much crazier than it ever got in Season 1."
"Stranger Things" has been renewed for a third season. Although the Duffer brothers initially wanted to end the series on its fourth season, director Shawn Levy previously hinted that a fifth might be possible.
"Stranger Things" season 2 premieres on Oct. 27 on Netflix.
