'Street Fighter 5' Update: Game Modes Teased in Trailer

Upcoming fighting video game "Street Fighter 5" is nearing its release date. In line with that, Capcom unveiled a new trailer at the Taipei Game Show in Taiwan that allowed fans to have a sneak peek of what's to come in the game. According to Game Spot, the video showed the different modes of the game including the tutorial, training, survival, network, and the story mode, which will have a different release date.

Ubergizmo detailed that in the Tutorial mode, the gamers will be taught how to play the game. It also includes some of Ken and Ryu's backstory when they were still young and the time they were learning how to fight.

On the other hand, Training mode will let players test their moves and practice with the top characters in the game. There will also be training conditions which players can assign with the DualShock controller's touchpad.

In the Network mode, this is where players can play with friends online or compete in tournaments.

Lastly, the Survival mode is where players battle against an infinite stream of fighters. The difficulty level will increase per battle round.

The trailer wasn't the only surprise from Capcom. As noted in The Escapist, the iconic character Ken will have a new look. This means that veteran players of the "Street Fighter" video game will be seeing a different appearance—a change from what they are used to.

"[The new] Ken looks fine [laughs]," said Capcom brand manager Mike Lunn, according The Escapist. "People say he looks a little bit different. He looks a little bit different, his hair is a little bit different; he now has that kind of sporty shirt on as well."

Lunn explained during an interview with IGN that the reason for changing up Ken's look is that it will differentiate him from his popular rival, Ryu. Aside from that, Lunn revealed that Ken will be playing differently as well.

"Street Fighter 5" is scheduled to be released on Feb. 16 for PS4 and PC.
