'Suicide Squad' spoilers: Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje's killer makeover for Killer Croc
So far, since the "Suicide Squad" trailer hit social media, everyone has already been impressed by the cast's personification of DC's villain group. Every now and then, the cast's costumes and makeup transformations are released one after the other. The latest one to have caught public attention is Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje's full character mode of Killer Croc.
The English actor recently celebrated his 48th birthday this weekend while they were filming on set in Toronto, in which his co-star Will Smith was more than nice enough to have given him a birthday cake with chocolate frosting and dedication, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY CROC." Comic Book posted a picture of Akinnuoye-Agbaje, alongside Smith, in his full Killer Croc prosthetic mask and makeup.
It seems that many are quite impressed with the well-crafted costume; however, for fans, it seems to be a deviation from the comic book version. Fans have come to accept this different interpretation of the character's appearance and they only hope that his acting will be much more impressive.
Killer Croc is better known as an adversary of Batman. Created by writer Gerry Conway and artist Don Newton, the character firs appeared in March 1983. Killer Croc has a disfiguring skin disorder that he inherited, causing him to have a reptile-like form. His appearance is heightened by a metagene that gives him extraordinary physical abilities such as super strength being able to lift up to 20 tons and his nearly impenetrable skin. One of his weaknesses, however, has been his weak intelligence, which makes him more of the brawns of the group rather than the brains. As for the actor playing this character, Akinnuoye-Agbaje was a former fashion model of Nigerian origin, who has been known for his previous roles such as Lock-Nah in "The Mummy Returns" and Malko in "Game of Thrones."
Akinnuoye-Agbaje will be starring alongside Will Smith, Cara Delevigne, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Jay Hernandez, Adam Beach, Joel Kinnaman, Jai Courtney, Karen Fukuhara, and Viola Davis in the antihero film, Suicide Squad, showing on Aug. 5, 2016.
