'Suits' Season 5 Premiere Date & Spoilers: Jessica And Harvey Searches Defense For Mike; Romance With Rachel To End?
The long wait is finally over for the fans of American legal drama TV series "Suits" as the series is returning already to the small screen for the second half of season 5. Fans will now be catching all-new episodes beginning with episode 11 which will pick up after the events of the midseason finale.
It can be recalled that before the winter finale episode closed, Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams) was arrested for impersonating a real attorney and committing fraud. According to Carter Matt, the series will return with the episode titled "Blowback" and it will show how Mike's arrest also affects the future of Pearson Specter Litt as well.
In the promo video posted in International Business Times, it showed Mike being questioned but refusing to speak further until he talks to his lawyer, whom fans highly assume will be Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht). The teaser also showed Donna Paulsen (Sarah Rafferty) speaking to Harvey saying, "You have to get him out of there."
But it seems like getting Mike out of from the fire will not be easy at it seems as the person dealing with the case is Anita Gibbs (Leslie Hope). Movie News Guide noted that Anita was previously revealed to be a ruthless investigator and she is not backing down until she puts Mike behind bars.
With that, Jessica Pearson (Gina Torres) and Harvey will have to find a way to help Mike. As revealed in the synopsis, Jessica and Harvey will still be supporting Mike. It says, "Jessica and Harvey must figure out how to build a defense for Mike, knowing full well that he's guilty of the crime for which he stands accused."
Meanwhile, Rachel Zane's (Meghan Markle) father is also seen in the video pushing Mike against a wall and giving him a heavy warning. He said, "This is the only chance you are gonna get to save what is left of your miserable life." It's not certain yet but Mike and Rachel's love story may also be in jeopardy.
"Suits" season 5B will return on Wednesday, Jan. 27 at 10 p.m. on USA Network.
