'Super Mario Maker' Update: Costumes Daisy & Pigeon Now Available
Exciting things continue to slide along the side-scrolling platform game "Super Mario Maker" as they have once again brought in new characters for gamers to play with. The latest ones in the roster are Daisy and Yamamura the pigeon.
According to Game Rant, gamers have been able to turn Mario's appearance into other familiar characters because of the Mystery Mushroom. The characters can be as random as Foreman Spike from "Wrecking Balls," an old NES game. And now, players can go opt to play as Daisy or Yamamura as both characters are now available. Yamamura the pigeon had previously been released while Daisy became available starting Jan. 15.
To play as the yellow-dressed princess, GameSpot detailed that players must collect a Mystery Mushroom. They can unlock random Mystery Mushroom characters by playing through the 100 Mario Challenge. If they want to unlock a specific character, they can use an Amiibo. iDigital Times also noted that players will have to successfully accomplish a new character-themed Event Course.

In the trailer released by Nintendo, it gave fans a glimpse of how Mario turned into the character Daisy through the use of a question mark mushroom. It's also noted that Daisy won't appear with her iconic "Hi, I'm Daisy" phrase. What she does instead is let out a weird little giggle.
The other costume, Yamamura the pigeon, comes with Mario's iconic "M" badge on his chest and is known as a master level designer who helps Mary O. teach players in creating courses. He is also seen in the Crash Course online comic from the Super Mario Maker website.
To play as Yamamura, IGN detailed that gamers will only need to complete the latest featured Event course. Once they are able to successfully complete it, a new Mystery Mushroom will be unlocked and it will be added to levels, which in turn transforms the character into the branded pigeon.
